Yankee Institute is pleased to announce that Jack DeOliveira has joined the organization as its new Director of Policy, where he will lead Yankee’s research and advocacy initiatives.
A Connecticut native, DeOliveira brings a strong record of public service, policy expertise, and academic scholarship. He holds degrees from the University of Alabama and Norwich University and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Political Science at the University of South Carolina.
“I’m excited to join Yankee Institute and build on its legacy of advancing common-sense solutions,” DeOliveira said. “Together, we can make Connecticut a place where families can stay, grow, and thrive for generations to come.”
His career includes roles with the Connecticut General Assembly, the South Carolina Office of the State Treasurer, and a regional council of governments. He also served as an elected Burgess (Town Council member).
DeOliveira’s work focuses on the intersection of government structure, policy implementation, and public trust. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with lawmakers, agency officials, and civic organizations across federal, state, and local levels to promote accountable, transparent governance.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Jack to the team,” said Carol Platt Liebau, President of Yankee Institute. “His expertise and passion for strengthening public trust in government will be invaluable as we continue our mission of advancing free-market, limited-government solutions for Connecticut.”
