Welcome to the 2025 Legislative Session!
My name is Bryce Chinault, and I am the Director of External Affairs at Yankee Institute, a public policy organization committed to empowering the people of Connecticut to forge a brighter future for themselves and their families. We do this by advancing free-market, limited-government solutions that will strengthen our communities and build a vibrant, hopeful future for Connecticut’s hard-working people.
We want to work with you to build a broad-based coalition to encourage sound policy reforms to enable Connecticut residents to forge a better future for themselves and their families.
To that end, Yankee Institute’s legislative goals include:
- Securing Connecticut’s Fiscal Future by Protecting the Fiscal Guardrails
- Expanding Educational Access & Opportunity
- Ensuring Taxpayers Aren’t Forced to Subsidize Striking Workers
- Lowering Energy Costs By Expanding Our Options & Not Only “Going Green”
- Fostering Workforce Participation by Reforming Occupational Licensing
- Protecting Taxpayers by Pushing for a Wage Freeze for State Employees
- Increasing Access to Healthcare Through Certificate of Need Repeal
- Spurring Economic Growth Through Tax and Regulatory Reform
We are here to help provide all policymakers with valuable insights. Since its founding in 1984, Yankee Institute has published research papers because they are the indispensable intellectual infrastructure in support of our mission, and to spark a dialogue among the legislature by offering a unique perspective on government policies. Please view all of our content, including legislative testimony and popular op-eds, at yankeeinstitute.org.
We want families to stay here and grow. We want our communities to thrive. And we hope to generate the changes that will make the days ahead vibrant and secure for Connecticut.
Thank you for your consideration of these proposals. We stand ready to work with you to secure a more prosperous, free, and hopeful future for all the families who call our beautiful state home.
